Our inaugural vintage from one of more storied Chardonnay Vineyards in California. Kent Ritchie has been farming this site since 1972, and his attention to detail and quest for quality spills out of every glass. The site boasts sandy Goldridge soils, various elevation changes, several solar aspects, and unique vine spacing, creating a near perfect terroir for Chardonnay grapes.
The wine has a bit of ying and yang to it – contrasting notes of both flintiness and fruit create complexity, with incredible natural acidity complimenting rich fruit notes. Butter rum, wet stone, and dried apricot provide primary aromatic notes. The palate skews to the brighter side of medium bodied, with supportive mid palate roundness from batonage and heavy lees aging.
