Six unique vineyards representing the expansive and diverse sub-appellations of the Russian River Valley make up the 2020 Appellation Pinot Noir. The nose is initially a bit shy, so be sure and give her a firm swirl first thing. As the aromatics open up, we find elegant notes of dried cranberry, raspberry, just ripe strawberry, and cherry cola. The palate is super inviting, specifically the softness of the tannins, a wonderful feature given its relative youth. The wine skates front to back effortlessly, creating an interesting juxtaposition between the warm, mouth coating tannins and the lighter bodied nature of this Pinot. The finish shows pretty acidity coupled with bright fruit notes, cherry cola, and elegant tannin.
