Art Robledo and his son Art Jr. are one of the few vineyard managers in the Russian River Valley that farm 100% of the vineyards under their management Organically.  Their home ranch, Laguna, is arguably the prize jewel of their portfolio.  We were immediately drawn to Art and his son; they are passionate, intentional, and immensely proud of what they do – something we can relate to.  Located in the Laguna Ridge area of the Valley, the vineyard boasts fine dusty soils planted exclusively to Chardonnay and Pinot.  We were able to source a bit of Pinot Noir from this site, and resulting wine’s balance and sophistication is a direct corollary to the care in which it is farmed.

The nose shows ripe raspberry, plum, red cherry, and spicy earth.  The palate is elegant, middle weight, and carries soft and luscious tannins.  Palate flavors include lake stone, alpine strawberry, and raspberry.  There is a harmonious symmetry playing out between the tannin, acid, and fruit that lends to the graceful balance in this youthful wine.  The finish truly lingers, with ripe raspberry hanging on until the very end.
