Our inaugural sojourn into the Sonoma Coast Appellation!
The first thing that comes to mind regarding the profile of this wine is complexity. On the nose, we find hints of cranberry, gunflint, violet, marshmallow, and damp sandstone. The palate is initially quite bright and lively, but there is also a cool juxtaposition between the vivacious acidity and the rich depth of fruit that anchors the palate of this wine. This is likely due to the vine’s foremost antipathic inspirations - the earth in which the vines are rooted, and the ocean that brings the fog, wind, and cold. The body is decidedly light, but not wimpy, and the finish showcases the wonderful (and necessary) acidity that pulls this wine through the palate and leaves a bit of lingering.
