Such as the moon is influenced by its proximity to the earth and the stars, our Moon Pinot Noir blend is blissfully lost somewhere between the Sonoma Coast and the more inland areas of the Russian River Appellation. To achieve this stylistically, we choose vineyards in the Green Valley, attempting to merry floral and earth elements with fruit and tannin. The result is quite sexy, with racy acidity and layered complexity.
The 2019 Moon is a blend of six different Green Valley vineyards, all fussed over individually in small batches. 15% of the fruit for the blend was fermented with the stems included to give the wine a bit of structure and spice. Aromatics include oyster mushroom, wet earth, baked raspberry, and spice. The palate is super plush, with candied fruit and strawberry jam cruising on ample tannin. The finish is more baking spice, strawberry, and rounded acidity.
